William Douglas Evans "Doug" INDIAN TRAIL - William Douglas "Doug" Evans, 58, Indian Trail, passed away peacefully at home on Friday, August 22, 2014. Doug was born March 27, 1956 in Mecklenburg County, NC to the late Betty Crane and Floyd William Evans. Visitation will be held tonight from 4:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m. at Heritage Funeral Home - Weddington Chapel, with a Celebration of Life service beginning at 7:00 p.m. in the chapel at Heritage. Burial will be at Forest Lawn East Cemetery in Matthews on Wednesday morning at 11:00 a.m. Doug met the love of his life, Janet Davison-McGarvie, in Indian Trail six years ago, and the two were recently married. They enjoyed spending every minute together prior to his very sudden illness and subsequent death. He loved life and spending time with Janet, her children Danielle, Charlie, Jennifer, and their spouses, and Jonathan, and Christopher. He treasured spending time with their nine grandchildren. In addition to his wife, Janet, Doug leaves to cherish his memory, his father-in-law Daniel Davison; sisters-in-law Colleen Davison, Linda Dabnis and husband Anthony; brothers-in-law Daniel Davison, and John Davison and wife Joanne, his nieces and nephews, and the many friends that knew and loved him. Doug is also survived by his sister, Joan Hawkins, and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins who will remember him fondly.
