May 22, 2006

To All,

This year we had our first Mother's Day without Pat. It was not as usual even though we did laugh and did many of the usual things we would have done if Pat were here.

We went to church and then went for a simple lunch which is the way she always wanted it. Nothing fancy, just the family together to talk and laugh and enjoy each other.

Will and the waiter became best friends which is very normal with him. He, Pat, and Leigh have never met a stranger and after 5 minutes with that person they could call each other friends for life.

We do miss her and Will still talks about his MiMi.

We love you all and miss seeing all of you.

God's blessings on you all,

Marshall Coble

May 14, 2006

Today is Mother's Day, May 14, 2006. I have been thinking about my dear friend today and what a wonderful, loving, caring, mother and grandmother she was. She was so proud of her children and her Will and would be sitting on her deck, slapping her knees, and laughing that beautiful laugh at his antics... you are not with us now, my dear friend, but you will always be only a memory away.

I miss you!

Leigh, Jeff, Joni, Will and I celebrated what would have been our 39th wedding anniversary on September 25 at Joes Bar and Grill. It was one of our favorite restaurants at Myrtle Beach, SC.

Will enjoyed seeing the Racoons eat.

The others seemed to enjoy his distractions rather that think of why we were there.

Jeff has had his birthday and is 30 - no longer in his 20's - and I am now 62.

Those days would have been different with Pat but you continue to send cards, phone us and we continue to pray for you -her friends - as well. I hope this helps you as I know it has been a huge support of us.

We love you all and please hoist a glass of wine and remember that Pat made us laugh and smile. We love to hear those fun stories each of you have shared with us about her.

We love you all,

Marshall

To all,

Pat's family celebrated her 60th Birthday on Monday, August 22, 2005. We celebrated quietly and modestly as she had said she wanted.

She is missed by us all and all includes you.

She would want to smile and thank you all for your kindness to her family.

Thank you for your love for Pat, your kindness and love to her family, and your continued prayers for us. I will pray for you, her grieving friend.

Thank you,

Dear Marshall,

We were so sorry to hear of your family's great loss. We have such fond memories of working together in new church development at MorningStar Presbyterian Church in Matthews; we will always be grateful for the years Pat (and you, Marshall) taught our children in Sunday School. You were both such a wonderful influence, loving and guiding those young people, and serving the whole church in so many ways. Pat will be greatly missed by anyone who knew her. We pray God's comfort for you all as you grieve your loss.

Dearest Coble Family,

I was so devastated when I was catching up on the news this past week and read about the Lake Norman accident. I kept thinking it was only a coincidence with names but then looked up the obits. We are so so sorry to hear about Pat. She was such a kind and wonderful person. It has been several years since we had talked but have tried to keep up with "old neighbor news" thru the grapevine. You are all in our prayers.

Leigh and I worked together at the Popcorn shop when she was in school. Remember those days, Leigh?

Our prayers and thoughts go out to you. I have so many wonderful memories of years spent at Plaza Presbyterian and the closeness of our church family and Sunday School class. While we may have lost touch through the years, you still hold a special place in my heart. I am so sorry that I didn't get to speak to you at the funeral. There are many who love you very much; who were there for you then, and are here for you now. Take care of eachother, and remember Pat as the beautiful woman, inside and out, that she was. I just saw the article in the Charlotte Observer about your loss. I'm sorry I missed your visitation and the funeral. I remember each of you from the days at Endy School where your mother taught for many years. I recall the times I drove you home to Oakboro after school while your mother stayed late for play practice. Your family has always remained very special to everyone in the Endy community. Dear Marshall, Leigh, and Jeff,

As a teenager, twenty something years ago, I attended Plaza Presb. with my mom, Gaye Farmer (now Gaye List). My memories of Pat are that she was a wonderful, caring mother to her children and was always smiling. In those days, Marshall and Pat's generation were like second parents to many of us in the youth group. I will always appreciate Pat's contributions and will never forget her warm smile.

My family will hold you in our prayers during this difficult time.

Marshall and the Coble Family, I was so devastated when my son called to tell me what had happened. My son loved Patricia as if she was the mother away from home. He spoke nothing but wonderful things of her. As Leigh and my son James see the future together I know that Patricia will still be watching over them. Leigh you are so muched loved and I know your Mom is with you. God gave us the tools to use our memories so we may reflect back of all the laughter and happiness you had with your Mom. Our thought and all our prayers go with all of you

Jeff,

This helped me when my Grandfather passed, may help you...

"I have only slipped away into the next room. I am still I, and you are you. Whatever we were to each other, we still are. Call me by my old familiar name, speak to me in the easy way you always used to. Put no difference into your tone, wear no forced air of solemnity or sorrow. Laugh as we always laughed at the little jokes we enjoyed together. Play, smile, think of me, pray for me. Let my name be ever the household word that is always was. Let it be spoken without effect, without the ghost of a shadow on it. Life means all that it ever meant. It is the same as it ever was; there is absolutely unbroken continuity. What is this death but a negligible accident? Why should I be out of mind because I am out of sight? I am but waiting for you, for an interval, somewhere, very near just around the corner. All is well.
