Mark Regis Ewing CHARLOTTE Mark Regis Ewing, 58, died while sur-rounded by family on Tuesday, August 21, 2012. Mark was born February 15, 1954 to Robert and the late Rita Ewing in Pitts-burgh, PA. He was a graduate of South Hills Catholic High School and attended Penn State University where he received a B.S. in Environmental Resource Management and was a football letterman. Earlier this year he celebrated his 33rd wedding anniversary with his devoted wife Ruth, with whom he built a wonderful and active life. In addition to Ruth he is survived by his daughter Nicole Ewing Meacham and her husband Hunt Meacham, daughter Kelly Ewing, son Mark Ewing, and grandson Liam Meacham, all of whom live in Charlotte. He is also survived by his father Robert F. Ewing, Sr. and seven siblings: Robert F. Ewing, Jr., Kathleen Ewing, William Ewing, Mary Beth Kasel, Rita Ewing, Janet Merriman and Thomas Ewing. His mother and older brother David anxiously await his arrival. "Big" Mark enjoyed neighbor-hood beach volleyball, grilling on his faithful Weber grill, trips to Ocean Isle and Wrightsville Beach, and spending time with his family rooted in an after-noon of college football. Visitation will be at Heritage Funeral Home, Weddington Chapel on Friday, August 24 from 5:30 to 9:00 pm. Mass of Christian Burial will be Saturday, August 25 at 11:00 am at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church, with burial following at Forest Lawn East Cemetery in Matthews in the Garden of St. Matthew. A luncheon at St. Vincent de Paul will follow the burial. In lieu of flowers, please make donations in Mark's memory to St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church or the Ameri-can . Heritage Funeral Home Weddington Chapel is assisting the Ewing family.
