Mr. Currie was born in Anson County, NC, on August 3, 1930, to the late Howard Reedy Currie and Betty Crowder Currie. Mr. Currie served in the Army during the Korean War. He was a charter member of Cornerstone Baptist Church, where he had been a deacon, a Sunday School teacher and where he served on many committees prior to his illness. The family will receive friends from 1:00 PM until 2:00 PM prior to the service, at the church. A graveside service will be held immediately following the service at Sunset Memory Gardens, 8901 Lawyers Rd, Charlotte, NC. Surviving Mr. Currie are his wife of 62 years, Thresea Wade Currie; son David Currie and his wife Araceli; son Cliff Currie and his wife Amy; grandchildren Sandi, Matt, Megan, Cody, Luke and Claudia Currie; and his sister Jenny.
