William Ralph Davidson "Dave" CHARLOTTE - Mr. Davidson, 88, died Friday, November 1, 2013, at Carolinas Medical Center-University. He was born May 24, 1925, in Burnet County, TX, to the late Jesse Greenville Davidson and Mattie Mae Daugherty Davidson. Mr. Davidson entered the U.S. Navy in 1942 and proudly served his country for 23 years, retiring as a Lieutenant Junior Grade in 1966. Following his military service, he graduated with honors from Mitchell College, New London, CT, before embarking on a career in the food service industry. Dave attended St. John Neumann Catholic Church and was a member of the Retired Officer's Association and Friends of the Library. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, November 5, 2013, at St. John Neumann Catholic Church, 8451 Idlewild Road, Charlotte by the Reverend Patrick T. Hoare, Celebrant. The family will greet friends from 10:00-11:00 a.m. prior to the Mass. Interment with military honors will follow in Sunset Memory Gardens. He is survived by his daughter, Kathleen Hollenbeck and husband, David; two sons, Mark Davidson and wife, Dawn and Richard Davidson and wife, Stephanie; six grandchildren, Danielle, Colleen, Kimberly, Joshua, Emily, and Greyson; and four great-grandchildren, Demantae, Kymon, Kimeera, and Mackenzie.
