Thomas Mack Baucom CHARLOTTE - Mr. Baucom, of Charlotte, passed away December 12th, 2013. Mr. Baucom was born August 23rd, 1932, to Ray and Martha Baucom of Charlotte, NC. He was 81 years of age. Mr. Baucom retired from the Charlotte Fire Department as a Captain in 1982 with 25 years of service. Prior to that, he served in the U.S. Navy for four years during the Korean War. Mr. Baucom was a very caring thoughtful individual who loved his wife and family. He was a member and Past Master of Derita Lodge No. 715 AF&AM, supporting the masons for over 25 years, Eastern Star, Shriners, Scottish Rite of Freemasonry and VFW. Mr. Baucom was preceded in death by his daughter Cindy Scott and parents. He is survived by his loving wife Mamie Baucom, daughters Karen Phillips and Shelia Baucom, step-daughter Pam Boyes and step-son Glenn I Barrett Jr., seven grandchildren and five great-grandchildren, brother Keith Baucom and his wife Theresa and sister Marie Williams and her husband Michael. The family will be celebrating the life of Thomas Mack Baucom at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Derita Masonic Lodge, Building Fund, P.O. Box 26071 Charlotte, NC 28221.
