Fred M. Mills CHARLOTTE - Mr. Mills, 82, of Charlotte, died at his residence on Friday, Feb. 28, 2014. A native Charlottean, Mr. Mills was born June 28, 1931, a son of the late Fred and Louise Satterfields Mills. Fred was retired from Duke Power Company after thirty-three years of service. He was an active member of Woodlawn Baptist Church and was a U.S. Air Force veteran of the Korean War. Fred was an avid golfer and enjoyed fishing. He will be missed by his family and friends. In addition to his parents Fred was preceded in death by his sister, Peggy Page. Survivors include his wife, Queenie "Tootsie" Mills; daughter, Janice Slawter and husband, Jim; son, David W. Mills and wife, Linda; brother, Jerry M. Mills and wife, Genny; sister, Lillie Mae Plott and husband, J.C.; four grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Funeral service for Mr. Mill will be held 1 p.m. Tuesday, March 4, 2014, at Woodlawn Baptist Church. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church. Interment will follow in Sharon Memorial Park.
