Lucille Brown Obituary

Mrs. Lucille H. Brown, of 5939 Reddman Road, Charlotte, NC, died January 26,2 003 at Presbyterian Hospital. She was the daughter of the late Daniel and Hannah Hall. Funeral services will be at Noon Saturday, February 1, 2003 at Simpson Gillespie United Methodist Church, 3545 Beatties Ford Road. Visitation will begin at 11:30 AM. Burial will be in Oaklawn Cemetery.
"Lucille' was a native of Concord, NC. She graduated from Bennett College in Greensboro, NC, and did additional studies at NC A&T University and NC Central University. She taught in the Charlotte-Mecklenburg schools system until she retired. She was a member of Simpson Gillespie United Methodist Women and the Communion Stewards. She was also a Sunday School teacher, and worked with the United Methodist Youth Program. She was a member of the Phi Delta Kappa Sorority, Bennett College Alumni Association and NCEA.
She leaves to cherish her memories, a son, Bernard L. Brown, Jr. of Durham, NC; a daughter, Denise Brown of Charlotte; a sister, Katie McKelvin of Washington, DC; a grandson, Derick Brown of Washington, DC; a devoted niece, Ann Hall of Charlotte; and a host of other relatives and friends.
Family Mortuary is assisting the family of Mrs. Brown.
