Sarah Stroud Obituary

Sarah E. Stroud
Mrs. Stroud was born in Charlotte, NC to the late Joe and Bertha Irby. She departed this life on October 29, 2007. Her husband, Julius F. Stroud, Jr., preceded her in death. Funeral service will be Monday, November 5th at 1 p.m. with visitation one hour prior to the service at Memorial Presbyterian Church. Interment will be in West Pinewood Cemetery.
She graduated as Valedictorian of Second Ward High School, class of 1932. She attended Johnson C. Smith University from which she graduated cum laude in three years. She was a retired teacher of the Charlotte Mecklenburg School System.
She was an active member of Memorial Presbyterian Church and a life member of Charlotte Delta Sigma Theta, Inc. for more than 50 years.
She leaves to cherish her memory, sons, Julius Percival Stroud (Nellie) of Charlotte and Barron L. Stroud (Elizabeth) of Landham, MD; daughters, Mrs. Tayloria S. Anderson of Beachwood, Ohio and Mrs. Patricia S. Dixon of Charlotte; grandsons, Julius Stroud of Charlotte, Barron Stroud of Columbia, MD, Eric Stroud of Pittsburg, PA and Leon Anderson of Beechwood, Ohio; granddaughters, Mrs. Patricia Anderson-Ballad of Beachwood, Ohio, Ms. Monique Dixon of Woodbridge, Virginia and Ms. Patrice Dixon of Charlotte; and four great grandchildren.
Memorials may be sent to Johnson C. Smith University Scholarship Fund, 100 Beatties Ford Road, Charlotte, NC 28216.

Tayloria, Patricia, Percival and Barron - Our deepest sympathy on the death of your mother. I have fond memories of time I spent on Carmel St. Our parents (Brevard and Grace Haynes) were close and we became close.
