Donald Hensel Obituary
Donald N. Hensel, age 85, of West Chicago, WWII and Korean War US Air Force Veteran and retired Illinois State Representative, beloved husband of Mary Ann (nee Heinz); loving father of Steven (Cathi), Jim (Barb), Rick, Dona (Phil) Smith and the late David (Linda); dear grandfather of 10; greatgrandfather, step grandfather and step great-grandfather to many; dear brother of Wayne (Cheryl) Hensel, Bob (Jeanne) Hensel, Marion (Wayne) Talley and the late Willard Hensel. Visitation Wednesday from 3 to 8 p.m., at Norris Walen-Segert Funeral Home, 132 Fremont St., in West Chicago. Funeral Mass Thursday at 10 a.m., at St. Mary's Church in West Chicago. Interment Calvary Cemetery in West Chicago. Memorial contributions can be made to St. Mary's Church, 140 N. Oakwood, West Chicago, or a charity of your choice. My heart broke when I heard the news about Don. He was such an awesome man. You all were a huge part of my early life and I have really great memories of countless days that we all spent together at the house. Playing Volleyball, cooking out....He will truly be missed. You will all be in my prayers.

Even though I left West Chicago in the early 60s, I never did forget Mary Ann and Don. They were always very much loved and respected. I am so sorry Mary Ann, that you are now without him but we all know he is reaping his rewards in Heaven. God Bless you all.
