Philip Beitler

Beitler, Philip Philip Beitler died October 22, 2014. Born October 18, 1950 in Hinsdale to Richard and Miriam Beitler, he graduated from Hinsdale Central class of 1969. Philip worked for Tyndale Publishing Company for 23 years. He spoke often and fondly of his coworkers. His Church and family were the center of his life. He was an active member of Elmhurst Presbyterian Church, singing in the choir, enjoying movie groups, attending mission trips and volunteering whenever he was needed. He had a special relationship with his cousins. He cherished memories of summer vacations, Thanksgivings in California, and holidays on Kenmore Ave. When his parents retired to Florida, his transition to independent living would not have been possible without the love and support of Uncle Daniel and Aunt Dorothy Davidovich, along with cousins John (Nancy), Bob (Gerda), and Jim. He truly considered Jim his third brother. In 2008, after a stroke, Phil moved to Tampa to be close to his brother, Doug, sister-in-law, Terry, and their children, Courtney, Andrew, Patrick and Brendan. Philip adopted the Rays and the Lightning as his "second favorite" teams. He enjoyed attending games and was an avid fan.except when they played Chicago. Survivors include brothers, Ken and Doug (Terry); nieces, Lauren and Courtney; nephews, Cameron, Andrew, Patrick, and Brendan; uncle, Daniel Davidovich; aunt, Marge Pietsch (Gary); and many loving cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents, Richard and Miriam Beitler; grandparents, Harry and Eva Beitler and George and Nellie Butts; uncles, Arthur Beitler, George Butts, David Butts, Lane Breidenstein; and aunts, Dorothy Davidovich, Ellen Breidenstein, Carol Beitler and Jean Butts. Memorial service Elmhurst Presbyterian Church, 367 Spring Rd., Elmhurst, Saturday, November 15, 2014 at 2:00 pm. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Elmhurst Presbyterian Church or to charity of your choice.
