Jack Adamo Obituary

Jack Adamo, 86, of Lemont, IL, passed away on August 10, 2013, surrounded by his loving family. He was born December 14, 1926 in Chicago. Devoted husband of Wilma nee Youngs for 62 years, he is survived by his four children, Laura (Zachary) Bravos, James (Marie), Mary (Joseph) Friedman, and John (Lauren); grandchildren Nathan and Christian Hins, Maia Hampton, Patrick, Eileen, Ryan, Therese, Kieran and Nicholas Adamo, Roxanne and Madeline Robertson, and four great-grandchildren. Dear brother of the late Peter, Katherine Netto, Edward, and Nicholas Adamo; fond uncle and friend of many. Jack, a Navy veteran of WWII, worked at Argonne National Laboratory for 32 years. His passion for classical guitar inspired his children's love for the instrument. Jack also had a lifelong love of flying, and late in his life enjoyed helping a friend build an airplane. A private memorial service will be held in October. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the National Foundation for Ectodermal Dysplasias: http://www.nfed.org/. Information: Elements, 855-550-5151.

I was saddened to hear of Jack's death. I worked with him briefly at Argonne National Laboratory in 1987. He was a very nice man and good co-worker. He always had a great story to tell of the old days! God Bless you Jack and your family!

Our family has lost the last of the "Greatest Generation" with your passing. What great man you were Uncle Jack! You defined Tom Brokaw's description in every way. You will be missed and will always be loved.

As much a father to me as my own. I will miss him greatly. I will save a place for him at dinner -sausage and peppers! I miss his commenting on my guitar playing. He was always honest, never condescending, and always said what he truly believed. Old school - but not old at heart. With Love, Zack
