Dearest Barbara, Hailey and Michael, Ricks passing caused us deep deep sadness. We are very sorry for your loss, and care for you so much. Our dear friend, Rick, spoke of you with great love every time we saw him-we have been praying for you and will continue, until we see him again on heaven's side. Rick knew and loved the Lord deeply. We're grateful God brought this special friend into our lives, 2 years ago. He loved you so much-and we know he would want us to continue to fervently pray for each of you & be here for you should you ever need anything. And so we shall. God bless you greatly,
Andy, Lisa, Andrew and Austin Hartell

Barb, Hailey and Michael, I am so sorry! Our families have so many fun and loving memories together. I can't even find the right word to say how much Rick will be missed. He was such an amazing and loving person, who touched the lives of every person he ever met. I am so grateful I got to spend some quality time with the both of you on my last visit home. I will forever cherish that memory. Rick was an Angel here on Earth and is an Angel now in Heaven. Barb, Hailey and Michael you are in my constant thoughts and prayers.

The first time I met Rick, he and Bob Casey were having a party at their (Lando Place) college apartment. It was getting late and just as things were calming down, Rick jumped out of the bedroom wearing an “old man” mask. With a soap-on-a-rope microphone, he gave a virtuoso rock music performance that still makes me laugh, thirty-six years later. I soon found that Rick was always fun to be around and, until now, I couldn't imagine thinking about him without smiling. I'll miss him.

Rick was a warm, loving and caring person I enjoyed getting to know since I joined the MainSource Financial Group Board only a year ago. Always interested in you and always engaged in meaningful and personal conversation, Rick was a dedicated and thoughtful person. It was evident how much he loved and cared for his family. My condolesces to his entire family. I only wish I had the privilege of knowing him longer.

Angels don't die, they go home! It has truly been an honor knowing Rick for the last 25 years! I truly can't think of one single conversation I've ever had with him where he didn't bring a smile to my face. He was an amazing son, father, husband and friend and he will live forever in the hearts of all who knew him!
