Noon, Jill - Highland Park  
Jill Pontius Noon of Highland Park, passed away on May 25, 2016 from pancreatic cancer at the age of 61. Jill died at home surrounded by her family. She is survived by her mother, Joan Pontius, her brother Jeffrey Pontius, her husband of 37 years, Christopher Noon, and their two sons, Brady and Joseph. She is also survived by her daughter-in-law, Morgan (Brady), and granddaughter, Reese. Jill grew up in Philadelphia and Chicago, attending Lyons Township and Hinsdale Central High Schools. Her undergraduate degree is from Miami University and she obtained an MBA from Northwestern University. An avid reader, Jill also completed the University of Chicago's Basic Program. Jill worked as a commercial loan officer at the First National Bank of Chicago and then in the Real Estate Division of Henry Crown & Company until the birth of her first child. Jill had an abiding passion for horses and rode competitively until the last few months of her life. She had good friends of all ages from that community. She also loved to ski and started, with enthusiasm, to play golf. She was an active parent participant in her sons' athletic lives, watching them play soccer, golf, football, lacrosse and baseball from ages 5 through college. Many friendships were made with other parents along the sidelines that lasted long past the kids' participation. A memorial service will be held at 3:00 pm on June 13, 2016, at Ravinia, 418 Sheridan Road, Highland Park. Rosemary N. Nitti (nee Romano), 92, resident of Schaumburg for 26 years, formerly of Chicago. Born June 18, 1923 in Chicago to the late Nicholas and the late Natalina (nee Liporita), she passed away peacefully May 25, 2016 at her home in Schaumburg. Rosemary was the adoring wife of 42 years to the late Joseph; loving mother of Maureen (Kenneth) Iacullo and Renaldo (Margo); dear sister of the late Eileen (Vito) Romano; fond grandmother of Nicholas, Julie, Anthony and Daniel; dear sister-in-law of the late Casmir (Marjorie), aunt and friend to many, she will be missed by all those whose lives she touched. Funeral Services will be held Saturday, May 28 beginning with prayers at 9:45am at Michaels Funeral Home & Cremation Care, 800 S. Roselle Rd., Schaumburg, proceeding to 10:30am funeral mass at St. Matthew Catholic Church, Schaumburg. Interment will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery, River Grove. Obituaries from the Past Three Days

Neuman, Mary Ellen - Wilmette  
Mary Ellen Neuman (nee Prescott), long time resident of Wilmette, passed away on April 23 after a brief illness. She was 89. Mrs. Neuman was born in Lansing, MI, one of two daughters of Miriam and William Ray Prescott, the latter a prominent Methodist minister in western Michigan. She attended Northwestern University, graduating with a BA in Education in 1949. She met and married the late Leo Henry Neuman, with whom she raised four children in Wilmette. The Neumans were beloved members of the Wilmette community. They graciously shared their love of horticulture through gifts of flowers and plantings for the Wilmette library for many years. Their love of music and their faith were expressed through the establishment of a scholarship for Choir members of the Alice Millar Chapel at Northwestern. Mrs. Neuman moved to Three Crowns Park in Evanston in 2014 where she lived until her death. She is survived by her four children, Linda Neuman of St. Anthony MN, Timothy Neuman (Mary Ellen) of Glenview, Holly Porrett (Ed) of Glenview, and Letitia Haynes (Steve) of Newburgh, IN; and twelve grandchildren (Jeff Rawitsch, Amy Christiansen (nee Rawitsch), Margaret Neuman, William Neuman, Michael Neuman, Thomas Neuman, Emma Porrett, Brian Porrett, Benjamin Haynes, Andrew Haynes, Jamie Elliott (nee Haynes), and Samuel Haynes). A private family memorial service will be held later this year. The family requests that remembrances be expressed through donations to The Salvation Army or The Greater Chicago Food Depository.
