Cherished son of the late Tryfone and the late Rose nee Cicanelli. Loving grandfather of James Fotopoulos, Alexandra (Bob) McCorry, Peter Fotopoulos, Gabrielle Antonacci (Chad Matsouka), Alexandrea (Javier) Pacilla, Daniel Antonacci, Louis Antonacci, Anthony (Samantha) Antonacci and Patrick Antonacci. Mary Louise Corcoran Ashford, 67, of Scottsdale, Arizona, passed away Monday, May 9th, 2016, surrounded by her loving family. Mary Lou was born in Rochester Minnesota on March 13, 1949 to the late Dr. Charles and Elizabeth Corcoran. She was raised in Chicago. Mary Lou graduated from James Ward Thorne School of Nursing, Passavant Memorial Hospital, in 1971 and later obtained her BSN from the University of St. Francis in Illinois. Her career as a nurse spanned 45 years serving in Illinois, Florida, California, Colorado and for the past 26 years in Arizona; most recently for United Health Care. Mary Lou is survived by her loving husband of 45 years, Joe Ashford; daughter Lisa Ashford-Kilani (Ramsey) and son, Ryan; three grandsons, Alex, Charlie and Oliver Kilani of North Carolina; three sisters Susan Corcoran, Diane Nielsen (Niels) and Peggy Joyce (Jim); six brothers, Chuck, David (Karrie), Quinn (Patti), Clarke (Judy), Brian (Mary) and Collin; and numerous nieces and nephews. A memorial mass will be held at St. John Fisher Church, 10234 S. Washtenaw Ave., Chicago, IL, on Friday, June 3rd. Family will receive friends at 9:15 A.M. followed by the mass at 10:00 A.M. Baar, Katherine - Oak Brook  
Mrs. Katherine L. Baar of Oak Brook, died May 21, 2016, peacefully in her sleep at home. Mrs. Baar was born December 15, 1920, in Eau Claire, WI. She was Salutatorian of the class of 1937 at Eau Claire H.S. She was a graduate of the Luther Hospital School of Nursing, the University of Southern Connecticut, and DePaul University, Chicago. She also did postgraduate work at the University of Chicago and was an art major at the University of Wisconsin Madison before transferring to the University of Southern Connecticut after her marriage to finish her degree. Her nursing career included Luther Hospital, Eau Claire; the Yale School of Nursing and Yale Hospital, New Haven; and Pres-St. Luke's Hospital, Chicago, where she was the Nurse Coordinator of the Birth Defects Clinic for 15 years until her retirement at age 65. She was an accomplished bassoonist, playing in high school and as an adult in The Flute and Fiddle Club of the North Shore, as well as an artist, painting her last work at age 89.Mrs. Baar was married for 54 years to the late Rev. Dr. William H. Baar, an Episcopal priest. During their time together she had an integral role in the work of his ministry. They served together at Emmanuel Lutheran Church, New Haven, CT; the University of Chicago and Brent House, Chicago; St. Elizabeth's Episcopal Church, Glencoe; Emmanuel Episcopal Church, LaGrange; and in retirement at St. George's Anglican Church, Venice, Italy; Church of the Ascension, Chicago; and St. Elizabeth's Episcopal Church, Chicago. She is survived by her children John (Janet), William H. (Gail), Mary (Ken) Farina, and Peggy Feeley; her grandchildren, Sara (Bradley) Mushlock, Erik (Bethany), Joshua, (Autumn) Feeley, Carl, Katy (Stuart) Feeley, Ann Farina, William H. (Jane), Matthew Farina, and Anna (Carson) Boyd; her great-grandchildren, Hannah, Ila, Clara, Lilly, Louise, Emma, Ellory, Layla, Ellen Katherine, Grace, Fiona, and Elijah; and her nephew, Thomas Oie. She was preceded in death by her daughter Katherine Louise "Kitty" Atwood. The funeral mass was held at 10 AM on Saturday, May 28 at Grace Church Hinsdale followed by the interment at Oakridge Glen Oak Cemetery in Hillside.
