Alan Hager

Born February 18, 1940. Died December 15, 2012. Father, husband, professor, scholar, author, oarsman, musician, soldier, squash and tennis player. Retired Professor of English Literature at the State Universityof New York/Cortland and former Associate Professor at Loyola University and Adjunct Professor at the University of Illinois at Chicago. He leaves behind two beloved children (Stephen and Louisa), the fondest of former wives (Carol), a sister-in-law, a niece, seven nephews, two grand-nieces, four grand-nephews, nine books on Shakespeare, Milton, Sir Philip Sydney and other 16th--18th century authors, and hundreds of former students. Services will be held in Long Island NY in August.
