Allen Easterwood, age 78, died in his home in Wheaton on Thursday October 24th after a long battle with pulmonary fibrosis. Al was born in Lorain, Ohio, son of Allen D. Easterwood, Sr. and Catherine Griffin Easterwood, on April 12, 1935. He was a graduate of Bowling Green State University in Ohio. He was a member of Pi Kappa Alpha fraternity. Prior to his graduation, he served in the United States Marine Corps
, attended the Air Naval cadet flight school in Pensacola, Florida; he finished his tour of duty in the U.S. Navy
on the USS Northampton. He returned to Bowling Green for a final semester where he met his future wife, Sue. They married in 1962. He is survived by his loving and caring wife, beloved children, Anne Sulaski and Scott (LeAyn), was the proud grandfather of Kathryn and Megan Sulaski and Jack and Jamie Easterwood. He is also survived by his brother Terrence (Ann) Easterwood, sister Renee Slaus and dear nieces and nephews. Al worked as a production supervisor at the Ford Motor Co., Lorain assembly plant, and then began a long career in sales management in the computer industry with companies including IBM, Data 100, Raytheon, and United Technologies. He was a life-long member of the Episcopal Church, and as a 40 year member of St. Barnabas Church in Glen Ellyn, he served as a warden, lay reader, acolyte master and verger. He was a member of the Third Order of St. Francis. A requiem Eucharist is planned for Saturday, Nov. 2 at 3:00 p.m. at St. Barnabas Church, 22W 415 Butterfield Road, Glen Ellyn.
