Amos James Coffman, Jr. died recently after a long illness. Mr. Coffman was born Aug. 16, 1940 to Amos James Coffman and Jean Stringfellow Coffman in New York. He graduated from Harvard College with his BA in 1962 and from the University of Michigan
with his JD in 1965. While at Michigan he was an editor of the Law Review. Earlier, he was a student at Hyde Park High School in Chicago. Mr. Coffman was an attorney in Chicago for more than 45 years. He is survived by his wife, Julie Weber Coffman and by his sisters Kathleen Coffman Slater and Carolyn Coffman DeLuca. Mr. Coffman had two sons, A. James Coffman III and Nathaniel Ward Coffman and five grandchildren: Matthew, Claire, Noah, Alana and Jenna Coffman. He is also survived by his first wife, Gretchen S. Coffman A private family memorial service is being held.
