David Lynch

David A. Lynch, 68, passed away January 4, 2013, in Chula Vista ,CA after a heroic fight with Parkinson's Disease. He is survived by his beloved wife Gloria; loving children Amy(Rob) Pike, Ryan(Stacy), Jenny, granddaughter Carson, sisters Mary(Don) Romano, Kate(Dennis) Leahy, Nellie(John) Patterson, his devoted nieces, nephews, great-nieces-nephews, step-children and step-grandchildren. Born in Chicago, raised in Wilmette, IL, a New Trier H.S. graduate, and at Xavier University (Cincinnati), Dave starred in baseball and basketball. After Xavier Dave moved to Tucson, AZ., raised his family and became a High School P. E. teacher. A love of sports drove Dave to coach many successful H.S. basketball and baseball teams; his Santa Rita H.S. 1978 boys basketball team was state runner-up and his 1984 girls basketball team was undefeated State Champion. After being a city, state, and national amateur handball champion Dave played professionally attaining 8th nationally. A great athlete, teacher, coach, and most importantly, a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, brother-in-law, uncle, cousin, and friend. All were blessed to have known Dave, spent time and learned what is most important in life via his kind, loving nature deeply rooted in faith. Vigil Tuesday,1/8, 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at Glen Abbey Memorial Park, Bonita, CA, and Funeral Mass Wednesday 1/9, 9:00 a.m. at St. Rose of Lima in Chula Vista, CA.
