Edward Fiedler Jr.

Edward H. Fiedler Jr., formerly of Oak Park, IL, passed away peacefully on March 20, 2013 of cancer at his home in Leesburg, FL. Beloved husband of Shirley, née Becker, and of the late Barbara, née McAllister. Loving father with wife Barbara of Edward (Jane) Fiedler III, Kurt Fiedler, Hope (Bill) Geldes, Sara (Mark) Wienkes, and Jessica (Tony) Roche. Cherished grandfather of Edward (IV) and Andrew Fiedler; Ashley Fiedler; Marty, Elliott and Molly Kunkel; Alexandra and Audrey Wienkes; and Fiona, Colin, Tara and Braeden Roche. Dear brother of the late Joan (the late Ed) Potts, the late Celeste (the late Merwin) Bristol, and the late Barbara (Dean) Hill. Fond uncle of numerous beloved nieces and nephews. Loyal friend to many. He was a talented, hard-working attorney; an avid tennis player; a dedicated friend; a prolific artist; a perpetual joker; a tireless mentor; a doting grandfather; a caring, involved father; and a loving, devoted husband. Never seeking recognition, he gave ceaselessly and selflessly of his time, talents, energy, wisdom, support and resources, and improved the lives of all those around him. He was a man of incredible integrity, and lived a full and meaningful life. He will be sorely missed, and eternally remembered. His cremation was private. A memorial service celebrating his life will be held on April 20, 2013 at 10:30 am at Ascension Church, 808 S. East Ave., Oak Park, IL 60304.
