Ernest Francis Watts, Jr. died peacefully on Saturday, Oct. 20, 2012, surrounded with incredible love. He is survived by his wife, Judy; and three children, Ernest Watts III (Barbara), Peggy Sarason (Don) and Colin Watts (Jill); as well as two brothers, William (Kathleen), Robert (Susan); and a sister, Gigi Conron (Mike); he was blessed with 10 grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews and has enjoyed 31 first cousins. Born in 1937 in Chicago, IL, Ernie became active as a salesman for Binks Manufacturing, where his outgoing personality was to shine. His career with Binks brought him and his family to many interesting cities, including Dallas, Memphis, Mexico City, Toronto and finally back to Chicago where he served as Vice President, Marketing. Ernie was an alumnus of Fenwick High School in Oak Park, IL, where he was honored as a member of the Fenwick Hall of Fame. He attended Springhill College in Mobile, AL and fell in love with the South and New Orleans. He and his wife Putzi, who died in 2002, lived in Chandler, AZ, where he served as President of the Rotary Club
. Ernie then moved to New Orleans and married Judy Koop McGinity. He enjoyed many friends and was able to pursue his life long love as an aficionado of jazz music. The family would like to thank River Regions and Concerned Care Hospices, along with the Sisters, Servants of Mary, for their devoted care. A Memorial Mass will be held on Saturday, Dec. 8, 2012 at 11 a.m. in the Dominican University Priory Chapel, 7200 W. Division St., River Forest, IL. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Sisters, Servants of Mary, at 5001 Perlita St., New Orleans, LA, 70122 preferred.
