Ethel Mary Strickland Nolan, age 77, of Clinton, MO, passed away Thursday, March 22, 2001, at Clinton Residential Care Center, Clinton, MO. Funeral Mass will be 11 a.m. Monday, March 26, 2001 at Holy Rosary Catholic Church, Clinton, MO. The rosary will be held at 6:30 p.m. Sunday with visitation to be held from 7 to 8 p.m. at Vansant-Mills Chapel, Clinton. Family suggests contributions to Holy Rosary Catholic Church and may be left at the funeral home. Ethel was born in Chicago, IL, the daughter of Frank and Ethel Thury Bomher. She received a Master of Science Degree from St. Xavier College on June 1, 1968. She moved to Clinton in August 1980 and was a Registered Nurse. Her contributions to the community include working with Hospice for four years and providing independent foot care services. She was a member of the Church of the Nazarene from 1980 to 1999, and is currently a parishioner at Holy Rosary Catholic Church. She married Richard Strickland in 1944 and he preceded her in death in 1993. She married her high school sweetheart Edward Nolan on April 6, 1999. She is survived by her husband, Edward Nolan of the home; one brother George Bomher, Clinton; and a niece, Jacquie DiMisa of Gathersburg, MD.
