George Warren Jandacek, died Oct. 21, 2012, born in Chicago, IL on Sept. 8, 1924 to George W and Margaret McCormick Jandacek. He served in the Army
from 1943-46. The GI bill helped him earn a Chemical Engineering degree from Northwestern University
in Dec., 1948. He enjoyed his successful 37 year career in the independent petroleum refinery business, living in Oklahoma, Texas, Illinois, California, and Maryland throughout that period. He married Patricia Wyant Franzen on Jan. 18, 1975 and they moved to Venice, FL in 1994. He was predeceased by his ex-wife, Joanne Leahy Jandacek and is survived by wife, Patricia; two sisters, Marion Kenney and Margaret (Jon) Hawley; children James (Barbara) of Beaverton, OR, Jane Marquedant (Fred) Ervin, Springfield, IL, Steven, Madison, WI, and stepson Guy ( Allison) Franzen, Lenoir, NC; grandchildren Michelle Marquedant (Peter) Dyro, Alexandria, VA, Paul Jandacek, Beaverton, OR, Patrick, Elizabeth, Christopher, and John Franzen; and great-grandchildren Moxie, Zephyr and Nova Dyro. He is also survived by nephew Norman Kenney, and nieces Mary Ann Kenney, Janice Deal, Susan Thomson and Anne Zucchi. He and Pat spent years of pleasurable communing with others in Venice while playing golf at Waterford Golf Club. They are members of Grace United Methodist Church. A Celebration of Life will be held at the church on Saturday, Oct. 27 at 10:30 a.m., followed by a luncheon.
