IRVIN R. TCHON

Tchon, a lifetime resident, R.Ph., Ph.D. born April 28, 1922 and passed away November 24, 2012, beloved son of the late Catherine (nee Sosnowski) and Joseph Tchon, loving father of Sharon, dear grandfather of Andrew, Michael, Nicole and Nathalie, fond brother of the late Lorraine (late Frank) Sowa, Virginia, Col. Richard (late Maryanna), Joseph (Rosalyn), Cecelia (Carl) Kestler, Mary Ann (Henry Miyashiro and late Mitchell) Soro, Wallace, dear friend of Josephine Klos and Arthur Szydlowski, dearest uncle and great uncle to many. Irvin graduated from the University of Illinois, College of Pharmacy and attended Wright College for Business Law and DePaul University Law School. He served as a State Pharmacy Inspector, Controlled Substance and Drug Investigator, and Florida Retail and Hospital Consulting Pharmacist. He was a veteran of World War II, served with the 14th Air Force Flying Tigers, is a decorated disabled veteran and a member of Hump Pilots Association C.B.I. (China-Burma-India). Irvin was a member of the AMVETS, the DAV, the Polish American Veterans, the PNA, the PRCU and the Polish American Pharmacist Assn. He was a candidate for the 12th Congressional District, the acting Republican Committeeman for the 30th Ward, and worked on election campaigns for presidents, senators, state representatives and city officials. Irvin was President of the Northwest Chicago Senior Citizens Legislative Council and led the campaign to establish the Copernicus Senior Center. His many voluntary contributions to his community were recognized in the Congressional Record. Services with military honors.
