James Naughton(1935 - 2014)

iconphotoJames B. Naughton, long time resident of St. Charles, age 88, died December 31, 2013 at Westbury Care Center in Lisle, IL. He was born August 14, 1925 in St. Charles, IL to James and Mabel Naughton. He married Mary Pentimall on October 4, 1947. He was a Corporal in the United States Marines Corps. Serving in WW II, fighting on Iwa Jima receiving a Purple Heart. James earned his undergraduate degree from La Salle College and his Masters Degree from the University of Chicago. He was a long time member of St. Patrick Catholic Church. He is survived by his wife Mary, children, James (Deborah) Naughton, Maureen Naughton, Thomas Naughton, John Naughton, Eileen (Patrick) Brennan, Theresa (Michael) Gilbert, Patrick (Marilyn) Naughton, and Kathleen (Terrence) Lyne, 16 grandchildren, 2 great-grandchildren, and his sister Nancy Naughton Stopka. He was preceded in death by his sister Bonnie Naughton Schramer. Funeral Mass will be 11:00 A.M. January 4, 2014, at St. Patrick Catholic Church, 408 Cedar Street, St. Charles, IL. Visitation will be 3-8:00 P.M. Friday, January 3rd, at Yurs Funeral Home, 1771 State Street, Geneva, IL. Interment will be at Union Cemetery, St. Charles. In lieu for flowers donations may be made to James B. Naughton '43 Memorial Scholarship Fund C/O Marmion Academy, 1000 Butterfield Road, Aurora, IL 60502.
