John C. "Jack" Telander, 93, of Chicago, President of Telander Construction Co. He assumed the role of leadership in the firm in 1946, after serving three years as an officer in the U. S. Air Force. Mr. Telander is a graduate of Albion College in Michigan in 1942 and the University of Michigan
in 1943, and holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering. Active in civic, cultural and business affairs, he was a member or director of the following groups and organizations: Y. M. C. A. of Chicago, Graue Mill Historical Society, Builder's Assn. of Chicago, Technical Engineers Health & Welfare Board of Greater Chicago, American Arbitration Assn., Tau Kappa Epsilon Fraternity, Chicago Athletic Assn., and Gold Coast Neighbors, formerly North State Astor Lake Shore Drive Assn., which he and Mary Lou Maher founded. Mr. Telander is a co-developer of the Multi-Leveling Component System of concrete construction. He was also a longtime Gold Coast resident. He is survived by his wife of 44 years, Gloria B.
