Mercedes Abrams passed away on Jan. 14, 2010 of natural causes, after a lifetime of bringing love and joy to her friends, family and everyone who knew her. Well-known throughout Chicagoland as Mercedes Evans, for her lifetime career as a fashion model and coordinator, she leaves a legacy of style, grace, elegance and compassion to her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Merc joins her beloved husband, the late Philip Abrams, and is survived by her children, Sandi and Barry Hartstein and Steve and Rosalie Abrams; her grandchildren, Adam and Merritt DeWitt, Lauren and Scott Anchin, Stacey and Bryan Hersh, Kelly and Matt Miller, Carrie and Nick Colvin, Brian and Becca Hartstein, Danielle Abrams and David Abrams; and her great-grandchildren, Lily, Zach, Maya, Tyler, Brandon, and Skylar. Funeral services will be held at Piser Memorial Funeral Home, 9200 Skokie Rd., Skokie, IL on Monday Jan. 18 at 10 a.m. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to The Lisa Klitzky Foundation of Chicago at or P.O.
