Morton Sherman

iconMorton Sherman, age 86, of St. Petersburg, FL, formerly of Chicago; passed away Saturday, February 9, 2013. He was born in Chicago, IL and moved to Florida in 1967. A U.S. Navy veteran, Mort graduated from Crane Technical High School and Illinois Institute of Technology. He worked as a chemical engineer for Zonolite, Celotex, and Jim Walter Research Corporation in materials research and product development, was a life member of the American Society for Testing Material and later founded his own engineering consulting firm. He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Beverly; his three children Janet (Shmuel Deitel), Nancy (Ed Sherman) and Alan (Ginny Allen-Terry); his nine grandchildren; and, his siblings Dot (Mort) Goldenberg and Herb Sherman. Service Wednesday, February 13, 2013, 12:30 PM in the Westlawn Cemetery Chapel, 7801 W. Montrose Avenue (east gate entrance), where interment will follow.
