Rodger Pielet

photoIt is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved family member and friend, Rodger Wade Pielet, MD, 52, of Chicago who passed away on January 18, 2014. Rodger was born and raised in Aurora, IL where he graduated from West Aurora High School. He completed his undergraduate degree at Tulane University in New Orleans, LA in 1983 and graduated from Tulane University Medical School in 1987. Dr. Pielet was a well respected and talented Plastic Surgeon who has touched thousands of lives. He began his academic career at the University of Chicago, where he was a Clinical Associate and went on to spend over 15 years in private practice in both Chicago and Miami. Annually, he volunteered his time and services on medical missions with Northwest Medical Teams to remote Mexican villages performing pediatric and adult reconstructive surgery. Rodger is survived by his long-time partner, Christopher Roy, his mother Barbara Pielet of Aurora, IL (father Jack Pielet, deceased), sister, Dana Pielet( Dan Kohn), brothers John Pielet of Aurora, IL , Douglas Pielet (Mariette) of El Paso, TX, five nieces, business manager and friend Caryle Johnson of Chicago and his cherished pets Benni and Ollie. Rodger's had a passion for life and adventure. His generous and kind spirit, tenacious wit and love and caring for patients friends and family will be greatly missed. Private services were held - Donations can be made to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society and Imerman Angels.
