William Victor Andresen, age 72, went home to his Heavenly Father on Oct. 15, 2008, surrounded and held by the love of his life, his precious wife, Joan and his loving sister, Lanee, he was finally at rest after a lengthy illness. Bill and Joan, nee Schwartz were married 441/2 years, during most of which they lived at their home on Birchdale Ave. in Elmwood Park, IL where he loved and was loved by their neighbors and friends. In recent years, they have lived at Bethesda Home and Retirement Center, where he was also dearly loved. Bill proudly served his country in the Navy and is a Life Member of VFW Post 2004 and a Life Member of the Navy Seabee Veterans of America from Island X-2, Chicago. Bill enjoyed his work as a Master Electrician and after retiring, maintained his affiliation through Retired Members Local 134, Chicago. He was proud of his country, his extended family and his Norwegian and French heritage. He was preceded in death by his parents and grandparents. "Lanee" Andresen-Lundgren; brother-in-law, Rod (Dolores) Schwartz; sister-in-law, Jackie (Charles) Stilson. He was dearly loved and respected and will be missed by his nieces and nephews, as well as his uncle, aunt, great-uncles and aunts, cousins, extended family, many friends, and former co-workers. Visitation will be Tuesday, Oct. 21, 2008 beginning at 1 p.m. with services at 2:30 held at Bethesda Home & Retirement Center, 2833 N. Nordica Ave., Chicago, IL.
