Auntie Pat cast a very big shadow which is why she is missed so much. As Thanksgiving & Christmas approach my memories of Pat become stronger if there was anyone who defined how Christmas should be celebrated it was Pat.
I know she still celebrates with us all, but I sure wish I could be sitting next to her, sharing a drink & a laugh!
Marry Christmas Auntie Pat -we love you & miss you!

I actually came across this obituary while looking up something else. Although I know Pat passed several years ago at this point, I still want to send out my thanks to her. The Wyers were our neighbors in the old OLA neighborhood. I was a lonely little girl with a messed up family and, even though the Wyers probably don't even remember who I am, all my memories of that neighborhood are tied in with that family. Pat took care of me, made me yummy lunches with creamettes and butter, watched me the night my mom got remarried, showed a little girl what a family could be, if you were lucky enough to be a Wyer child. I remember going to church the day Kennedy was assasinated with Kathleen, playing with Kristie, hearing Pat talk about how she would take all her kids out of OLA if there wasn't room for her youngest. They were always my ideal of what a family could be, and, how I wished I was a part of it. I moved away and did not see them anymore, but, as you can see, even now those memories have not faded. I am sure Pat was remembered by people everywhere, but for the little girl I was, she was a warm and welcoming presence in many dark times. What a legacy she must have left on this world.

We are so very sorry to hear of Pats passing. My Mother tells countless wonderful stories of their lifelong friendship. Pat truly lit up a room when she came into it. She will be missed by all who were fortunate enough to know her. Our thoughts and prayers are with all of the Wyer family.

My childhood is filled with countless happy memories of my dear Auntie Pat. How I will miss your happy face, cheerful presence, and fun-loving spirit.
I will toast you and Uncle Ken and all our crazy times on Major with a beer on Fisher Lake next summer!
To all the Wyers, please know that we are grieving for you and with you. But all of you are a beautiful, perfect tribute to Auntie Pat. You are in our prayers.
Love,
Mary Kate & Kyle Dempsey & family

"Auntie Pat" was also known as"Happy Pat" in the Shea family since her godchild, George was sure that was her real name! She leaves a huge hole in our family since she's always been there for each of us in so many different ways! I know how much her family will miss her--she was so surely surrounded by their love, smiles, tears, & caring in these last months, as she had loved & cared for them for so long --See you later, Pat!
