Dear Valerie, John, Ricky and Susan,
I count the day I decided to volunteer at St. Francis as momentous, for that led to my acquiring a great friend, your dear mother. Every day I was there she made me feel special. She set a record for volunteer service that will stand for all time I'm sure. For years the Volunteer Dept. and Kay Gladych were synonymous. In fact, even though I moved away, I continued to volunteer until Kay retired. She really was one of a kind.
Your concern and care for her during the difficult days as her health failed were wonderful. She was blessed to have such a devoted family. You are blessed to have the memories of a mother who gave so much, to her country, her church. her community and her children.
Thank you for sharing her with us.

Dear Valerie,
Your Mom was one in a million and you are one in a billion! You took great care of Kay and I admire you for your love and loyalty.
Kay volunteered four days a week at St. Francis Hospital in Evanston, and she was the one who made everything work no matter how difficult the task. The apple didn't fall far from the tree!
My best wishes for you,

My sincere condolences to John, Susan, Valerie and Ricky. I have fond childhood memories of your mother from the Whitewater cabin, and from rides home from the "Y" in the back of your family's station wagon. When I think of her I can still hear in my memory her distinctive voice calling loudly for one or the other of you--usually in an aggravated tone of voice, and usually with some justification for being aggravated, if I remember correctly. Best wishes.

My thoughts are with you as you go through this very sad time in your family. I have many, many fond memories of Kay from the old days of St. Jerome's rummage sale, the Christmas bazaar, parents' club activities, and fundraisers galore. I vividly remember waiting for her to arrive at the Murphys to announce how much each department made following the rummage sale, and then the grand total. It was all such fun. I hope your personal memories sustain you, too, in the days ahead.
