My Condolences to all the Marton family.
I knew John from our Sunday morning coffee sessions at the DuPage Train Shows.
Never was he lost for words and I enjoyed listing to his many stories.
John was always more than helpful with any of my "train" problems.
I shall miss him greatly.

My brother-in-law, John Marton, was was someone I always looked up to. When my sister Judy first married John we would go to their cabin in Wis for deer season. In many ways I grew up with John.
I'm sorry for our loss but I'm happy for the way John enriched our lives.

John had a great smile and a very wry sense of humor, both of which will very much be missed by all who knew him. We will also miss his dramatic war stories from Viet Nam.

Mrs. Marton, AJ and Family, I am deeply saddended by this news, as I will always remember Mr. Marton for not only being a great neighbor when I was growing up, but also a mentor to me. He helped me through one of the most difficult times of my childhood and gave me the courage to help myself which set me down the path of being the person I am today. I will always remember Mr. Marton for not only his kindness but his humor and love he showed everyone. He will be deeply missed. I wish I were in town to be there with you, but please know you are in my prayers. Love, Patti (Chwal) Spelman

I met John when I was a director of CERA. I observed John's attention to detail as he guided CERA's legendary publications and chaired CERA's 75th Anniversary celebration. Peace, dear brother.
