Frank B. Mallek, beloved husband of the late Mary; loving father of Thomas, Conrad (Gloria), Ann (Anthony) DeMatteo, Patricia (Lawrence) Jayko, Ellen Bollinger, Cathleen (David) Smith, the late Denise (Terry) Paulish; dearest grandfather of 17 and great-grandfather of four. Funeral Saturday, 9 a.m. from the Schielka Addison Street Funeral Home, 7710 W. Addison St. to Divine Savior Church for a 9:30 a.m. Mass. Interment, All Saints Cemetery. Visitation, Friday 3 p.m. to 9 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Cancer Society. 773-625-3444. To plant trees in memory, please visit the Sympathy Store.

Grampa Frank showed me what a great grandfather was. He was always very generous, fair and genuinely interested in his grandkids' lives. He will be forever missed and remembered.

I am so happy I had the pleasure of giving Mr. Mallek a great big hug just a few months ago. Although our paths didn't cross as often as they used to, I though of him often. He made such an impression on me when I worked for him at Norridge. A wonderful man with a bark much louder than his bite and a heart of gold. His family meant the world to him - he loved you all very much. My thoughts and prayers are with all of you.
