To the Breslin family -

I was shocked to hear of Tim's death - it's unfathomable that someone so young and full of life could be taken so soon. I knew Tim from the Hockey Skilz clinics I used to take that he helped coach, and all of us always remarked at how friendly, genuine, and down-to-earth Tim was. The kind of person who made an impression on you just because of how nice he was. My deepest sympathies to all of you in your time of sorrow.

I am so sorry to hear of Tims Passing. It was just the week before last when I found myself piling through boxes of university pictures and remembering the old days. Tim was a class act and as Jim Dowd often said-,"one of the funniest guys he ever knew."Tim always made us laugh and I'm sorry that you have lost him too early, but his memory will live on.

My deepest sympathies.

I was acqauinted with Tim in the early 90's when he played for the Phoenix Roadrunners. He was a great player and very nice guy with an awesome last name. In 1997, my son was born and I named him Breslin. With the choosing of the name, there was a huge influence from the Tim I had once been acquainted with. Tim's memory is alive in our home and hearts every day. We will never forget him. Our thoughts and prayers are with you.

To Jamie, Shane, Paige, and Chase, Knowing your wonderful family has been all our pleasure. We never knew Tim as the Hockey Player, but as one of two wonderful freinds that Rick and Cheri have. We often remarked about how fortunate they were to have such good neighbors. Tim was a humble, gentleman. He will be missed by so many, but admired by more. We feel honored to have known him. Thank you for letting us be a part of your lives. Sincerely Peg, Meg, Amy, and Gramma

To Tim's wife, children, and family, I am Laura and Matt Kaplans cousin Dana. I heard about Tim's passing and wanted to express my deepest sympathy to you and your family. I lost my dad when he was 47 yrs old suddenly as well and I was 10... now looking back at the age of 29 and just newly married as well...I miss him and think about him each and every day that goes by, but I know that no matter where I am or what I am doing from now until forever that he is my guardian angel always and I know that Tim is now a guardian angel to all of you. There are going to be some really tough times ahead and there will also be some easier times ahead as well.. As I was once told GOD ONLY GIVES YOU AS MUCH AS YOU CAN HANDLE!!! And God is watching over you and your family as well. I heard that Tim was a wonderful person, great friend, good Daddy, super hockey player and I know that he is and will be truly missed.

Sincerely,

Dana and Jeff Newcomb

What great memories of Mike and Tim when they played for the Dubuque Saints. Tim was a true gentleman with a big heart. I know his spirit will endure through everyone that knew him.

Tim showed me a little trick for teeing up a golf ball when you didn't have a tee, I still use it when I play.

To the Breslin family,

I was a sports writer in Sault Ste. Marie when Tim played hockey at Lake Superior State University. Tim was a true gentleman, even as a very young man. He played hockey with the kind of character that enabled LSSU to distinguish itself as the best college hockey program in the nation at the time. He will never be forgotten by those who knew him at LSSU. My prayers go out to you, and especially the children.

Dear Breslin Family,

Our heartfelt sympathy to the Breslin family on the untimely passing of Tim. Although we only met Tim during the first Turner Cup celebration, we used to sit with Kay and Jim during many of the Wolves games. Kay and Jim used to beam with pride as they watched Tim play his best. I remember how Jim used to sneak down to the glass to get a closer look at Tim while he skated. Kay used to talk about Tim saying that he was such a wonderful son. Our prayers are with you during this most difficult time of sadness.

We are deeply saddened by the sudden passing of our good friend, Tim. My father died suddenly in his late 30's and left a wife and three children as well. He is still a profound and eternal memory. If it could be some small concession, you can judge the quality of a man's life by his impact on his friends. I am certain you will see the magnitude of that impact over the next couple of days. God bless you, your family and Tim.

Jami I want to say that I am very sorry for your loss, I know exactly how you feel because my husband died last year. My husband also played hockey with your husband before he became a Wolf and oddly enough I grew up with one of your cousins. After everything has settled down and numbness subsides, if you feel like talking I'm someone who could listen and understand exactly how you are feeling. Remind your children that they always have a father and he is always with them no matter what they are doing. He lives in their hearts, their heads, their memories. Always talk about Tim, they really need that. And again I am Very sorry.

To Tim's family,

I am a friend of Joe and Carol Mulchrone. I met Joe through work, and very often we would spend our breaks and lunches sharing stories of each other’s families, many of which included Tim and his hockey career!

My Dad and I attended several Wolves games in their beginning years, including that first championship game! Though I never met Tim, I always cheered extra for him, as I would for a friend. As a sports fan, it was fun to "know him", even if only by association with his kind Uncle.

I was so shocked and saddened to hear of Tim's passing. I had hoped and prayed that he could win that awful battle. I was touched by the memorials before last night's game and during intermission.

From all I've read and heard, Tim was an exceptional man who will be missed by many. I extend my deepest condolences, especially to his family, who will miss him infinitely. God Bless you in the difficult days ahead.

Fondly,

Claudia LiPuma

Shane, Paige and Chase, we’re all so sorry that you won’t get to have your daddy with you anymore, but you should know that your daddy was a hero. Chicago Wolves fans would yell and scream whenever he got a goal. His teammates and the fans loved him.

Kids loved him too when he went to libraries and your daddy let them try on his pads and jersey. Even though he was shy, he always stopped to give autographs to his fans. He was always thinking of others, whether he was passing the puck or teaching kids about hockey.

Not too many hockey players get to play the game near their home, so your daddy was very proud to have his whole family come to the Wolves games. And they came to almost all the games and yelled and screamed at his goals too.

And when your daddy won the best prize of all, the Turner Cup, he smiled when he carried it over his head and skated around before the fans. Then he celebrated with his teammates and drank champagne out of the Cup. But he didn’t stop thinking about the fans, so late that night, he and some of his teammates took the Cup with them and came to the bar at the Ramada down the street where all the fans were still celebrating and they filled the cup up with champagne and let all the fans drink out of the Cup too. When they gave him a championship ring, he didn’t wear it, like the other players did, he had it re-sized so that your grandpa could wear it. Boy, your grandpa is so proud of that ring, and of your daddy.

He was a team player, who played his very hardest every night. He had more assists than goals because your daddy was very generous. And another thing about your daddy is that he was humble. Even people that worked for him didn’t know he was a well-loved Chicago Wolves hockey player who had helped win a championship for his team. He really loved hockey and he wanted to share that with others, to give back. The success he got at being with the Wolves allowed him to share his love of hockey with others. He started a hockey camp in Bensenville so he could teach kids to play. And after he retired from the Wolves, he still played sometimes with the Wolves and Blackhawks at charity events.

We know you and your Mommy and family will miss him. All the Chicago Wolves fans will miss him too. And so will the players and the kids he taught. We will keep you all in our prayers. May God Bless you and keep you in the palm of His hand.
