Dorothy J. Firestone, age 98 years, beloved wife of Harvey H. Firestone for 72 years; cherished mother of Ida (Stuart) Aronesti, Robert (Carolyn) Firestone and Fran (Bruce) Goldberg; proud and loving grandmother of Howard (Melissa) Aronesti, Marci (the late Edward Braden) Aronesti, Catherine (Jared) Silver, Sara Firestone and Carl Firestone, Dana Goldberg and Wendy (Ben) Chiswick; dearest great grandmother of Orin, Shel, Parker, Austin, Joshua and Maya; special Aunt to Ira (Milly) Wolf, Fran (John) Lizzo and Paul Kling. Chapel service Wednesday 12:15 p.m. at Shalom Memorial Funeral Home, 1700 W. Rand Rd., Arlington Heights. Interment, Shalom Memorial Park. i was truly sorry to hear of aunt dorothy's passing. i still have the blanket she made to celebrate my birth 44 years ago, as well as the one she made for me and dave for our wedding 20 years ago. those blankets have always meant a lot to me, knowing that she thought enough to make them, and that so many of our family members have them. when i heard the news from mom last night, i made sure to have mine with me last night as i slept. her talents have touched and protected so many of us, and she will never be forgotten. all of my love to uncle harvey and all of you. her memory is truly a blessing.
