William Rotermund Obituary
Dr. William C. Rotermund, 88 of Sun City, Huntley, a retired Chicago Optometrist, passed away at his home with his family by his side on Thursday, January 15, 2015. He is survived by his wife, Cheryl, his sons, Don (Gayle) Rotermund, Dan (Gina) Rotermund, his daughters, Nancy Connelly and Julie Nebel, his step-son, Eric Krachtus, his grandchildren, Carl, Corinne, Nicole, Brian, Allison, Kara, Carlie, Martin & Amanda and his step-sister, Jacquelyn Danz. He was preceded in death by his parents, his first wife, Lee, his sister, Arlyce Stearns and his stepson, Kurt Krachtus. Visitation will be held on Sunday, January 18th from 3:00 - 7:00 p.m. and a funeral service will be held on Monday, January 19th at 11:00 a.m. all at DeFiore-Jorgensen Funeral & Cremation Service, 10763 Dundee Road, Huntley. Burial will be at a later date in Irving Park Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to JourneyCare Foundation, 405 Lake Zurich Road, Barrington, Illinois 60010 or the hospice program of your choice. When I first met Bill we were at the Dundee Park District where he was enjoying talking to folks and having a great time. He took the time to welcome me to the softball team and chatted with me for a while. He always had a great smile on his face and a joke to tell. I continue to play ball in Dundee even though I live in Plainfield Illinois because I enjoy the game and most of all the company of all the folks that play. Bill I'll miss you buddy take care Tom Dilley

My deepest sympathy to your family for the loss of 'Uncle Bill'.
He and my mother (Ellen {Lick} Fick) were cousins. My grandmother Pauline (Rotermund) Lick and Bill's dad Edgar we're siblings. I have many happy childhood memories of family parties at my grandparents home. My memory of Bill was that he was always an upbeat cheerful gentleman. I would have attended the visitation but I had a total knee replacement just a week ago. My prayers will be with the family in the coming days.
