Charles Calhoun Obituary
Charles W. Calhoun, Jr., recently of LaGrange Park, formerly of Homewood and Olympia Fields. Born to the late Charles W. Sr. and Helen Cressy in Beverly, MA on April 12, 1925 and passed peacefully after a long illness on April 3. Married to his Beloved Helen Maloney on June 10, 1950. Proud father of Charles, III (Shara), John (Marianne), Tom (Debi), Sally (Chuck Juliand), Peggy Appleby, Jim (Marian) and the late Mary. Devoted grandfather of 22 and great-grandfather of 7. Dear brother of Lorraine (Patrick) Stanton and the late Robert. Mt.Carmel HS Class of '43 before entering the US Army Air Corps and serving in WWII as a B-29 bombardier in the Pacific. Later graduated from Loyola University. Chuck was the Owner/President of Standard Steel & Wire and later, a self-proclaimed "Steel Peddler" with son Tom at Heidtman Steel. An active parishioner at St Joseph's in Homewood and Infant Jesus of Prague in Flossmoor, Chuck was a member at Olympia Fields CC where he gave us the gift of golf and had a hole-in-one on #8 North at the age of 71. Visitation 10am Monday at the Congregation of St. Joseph Motherhouse Chapel, 1515 W. Ogden Ave., LaGrange Park, until time of funeral Mass, 11am. Interment Holy Sepulchre Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials to the Mount Carmel High School Scholarship Fund, 6410 S. Dante Ave., Chicago, IL 60637 are appreciated (www.MCHS.org). Dear Helen and family,
Tom and I send our condolences on you loss. It is our regret that we were unable to attend the services. Shortly before I had a fall/fracture and am incapacitated for the time being.
We have many fond memories of good times with you both, and I'm sure your own memories will sustain you.

Dear Jim and all relatives and friends of Mr. Calhoun,
My deepest and sincerest sympathy. My mother is suffering from Alzheimer's so I know the difficult journey you have maneuvered. I went to grade school at St. Joseph's of Pomona, CA and keep hoping I'll get a hole-in-one someday! God bless you all! I'll keep you in my prayers.

Mrs. Calhoun and family,
I'm sorry for your loss of Mr. Calhoun. I always enjoyed seeing you, and remember great parties at the Calhoun's.
I think he's in heaven laughing with my Dad on those fluffy clouds. He was always a rascal, and made me smile.
