This world has lost a good man, however he will always live on through his good works and the many happy memories of his family and friends.

It is with deep sadness that I write these words to the family of a very old and dear friend. Curt was one of my best buddies and a constant companion at SXU. We attended many of the same classes and hung out together with mutual friends. He was always Falstaff to me, and he will remain that forever in my heart; his keen wit and brilliant mind combined to make him a truly joyful man. But, I know Curt was so much more--father, husband and of course an exemplary educator. I had the pleasure of getting to know his kids-especially Charlotte, who was in my 5th grade homeroom--but also Zach and Jon through my work at Covington. Charlotte was one of my "favorites," as her bubbling personality, wit and keen intelligence lent a breath of fresh air to my day. I know it was through her parents that she and her brothers received their love of life and their fierce competitiveness and drive to be the best they could be. Curt was truly a Renaissance Man in the best sense of the word, and his mark on the people he knew and touched will be remembered. My deepest sympathies to all of you. A bright and brilliant light has gone out in the world. Love and condolences to the Ehrenstrom family.

I only knew Curt in passing when we were students at MC. But
that changed when Coach E mentored, taught, and coached my sons. I cannot overstate the impact he had on them in the past 4 years. Multiply that by thousands and Curt's legacy will live on in not just his children but all of his boys at 6410 over the past 30 years. May Our Lady continue to hold Curt and the Ehrenstrom family in her care.

The motto for Carmelites is from St Elijah the prophet who lived on Mt Careml in Northern Israel. WITH ZEAL I WILL BE ZEALOUS FOR THE lORD gOD OF hOSTS. Curt fulfilled that motto better than most of us. He loved and served God, his family, his school and all of us with great enthusiasm. The family of Mt Carmel is better because of Curt.... Because of Easter, we never say goodbye for the last time. Curt, may the Lord hold you in the palm of His loving hands...forever.

Jane,

My sincerest sympathy to you and your family at the passing of your brother. I understand how difficult this must be for you and your family having lost a sister to cancer as well. Please know that you are in my thoughts and prayers as you go through each day without him. I hope the love and comfort of those who care will help you during this time.

I appreciated participating in the walk for Pancreatic Cancer in his honor. He will live on in you and all those he loved.

With deepest sympathy
