George Hulak Obituary
icon September 3, 1950 - February 24, 2014 George Hulak was born on Sept 3, 1950 in Munich Germany, to Anton and Martha Hulak. They immigrated to the US in 1951, settling in Chicago. He leaves his wife, Nancy, three sons: William David Hulak and his wife Stacy; Steven Hulak; Richard Ramos and his wife, Heather; and one daughter, Trini Ramos. He is also survived by his mother, Martha; brother, Bill and 10 grandchildren. He was in the Marine Corps from Jan 1968 to Jul 88. He was multi-lingual, speaking Ukrainian, English Chinese and French and served on the USS Fairfax County as the Intell/linguist travelling to West Africa and as translator for the Taiwanese military. Among other jobs, he created language material for Army and Marine interrogators and served as the imagery officer for the 3rd Marine Aircraft Wing where he retired in July 1988. In 1994 he was hired by the Air Force as an Intelligence Specialist then by the Navy as a Security Specialist. He was then assigned to the Navy Special Warfare Command (SEALS) in 2000 as Special Security Officer, where he worked until his death from lymphoma on February 24, 2014. A Celebration of Life service will be held at Hope UMC, in Rancho Bernardo, CA on Sat, Mar 15, with interment Mar 19 at Mission Memorial Park, Seaside, CA.
