Mr. Intrivici! My Latin teacher in 1968. I so remember you. I majored in Greek & Latin in college, in part because of you. You dressed so well, and had such style and were so great a teacher. You will both be missed and treasured always, for generations on. Even those who never met you will through your family and students and friends -- they will be touched by you unknowingly. Bless you. -- Glenn Pape

Cousin Vincent, you were always so thoughtful. I will never forget your kindness to us. May God bless you and may His angels lead you to paradise.

Vince, I still cannot believe you are no longer with us physically. I drove by your house today and remember sitting in your living room as a little girl and asking you all kinds of questions. You always answered them and didn't even roll your eyes at me. I know how much our family loved you and you them. I could not have asked for a better godfather, mentor, and surrogate family member. Keith and I miss you very much and know you are resting in peace - may God welcome you with open arms.

Mr. Intrivici was my Freshman English Literature teacher at Morgan Park H.S. He is the reason I still love reading literature, and am a big fan of Edgar Allen Poe. I have very fond memories of his passion for literature and him reading "The Cask of Amontillado" and "The Telltale Heart" aloud to us. I was 14 years old, and he really opened my mind to what great literature is and should be. (And, I remember his very hairy, Italian arms. Just the thing a 14 year old girl would focus on. :-) ) I only knew him as my English teacher, but looking back I know he was a wonderful man. My thoughts and prayers go to all of you who knew him well and will miss him.

We were saddened to learn of Vince's passing. My husband Bill had been a friend of Vince's for over 50 years and I for 46. Vince enjoyed sailing with us on Lake Michigan and the photo shows him at the tiller enjoying a "beverage" looking very cool and laid back. This was way back in 1971! Vince, God Bless you, and we'll always have our good memories of time spent with you.............

Mr. Intrivici was the first of 6 Latin teachers I had in high school and college. He was one of the best, truly dedicated to his profession and students, and certainly the most memorable.
I still remember our first Latin book lesson, which had a summer "picus nicus" , where everyone drank "Cocam Colam."
With his teaching, I was actually able to think in a foreign language, a heady experience .
My college required 2 years' proficiency in a foreign language. Having virtually no ear for the higher levels of Russian, I was able to easily use the Latin foundation he taught me to get a college degree.
He was a sharp dresser, and usually looked like he stepped out of the pages of Esquire or GQ magazine.
I still clearly remember first hearing of JFK's shooting from him, on November 22 at 12:45, when he was returning from lunch.
In hindsight, it surprises me how young he was when he taught at Morgan Park.
He is missed.

Mr. Intrivici's classes were always interesting; he challenged us intellectually and always with respect. I was lucky to have him as a teacher.

In 1968-69, a great freshman English teacher. Introduced us to A Separate Peace, and Lord of the Flies. And as I recall the sharpest dresser who drove a Mercury Cougar.

This photo was taken the day I was brought home from the hospital and my adoption was finalized.

My Godfather, Vince Intrivici was a brilliant man who lived a very quiet, private life and surrounded himself with a select few of his closest friends. He still resided in his childhood home on South Neva Street, where over 60 years ago he and my Daddy, Robert Polimac became boyhood friends.
I'm going to miss our monthly phone calls..and just knowing that he was always just a phone call away. May he rest in peace.
