I knew Aleks during my time at Ignatius. We had a few classes together freshman year, and, though we were never close friends, he always was such a kind, warm person and incredibly bright as well. He was one of those people I would run into in the halls of Ignatius and would just say hi. I am deeply saddened by his passing. I will keep him in my thoughts and prayers, and my heart goes out to his family and friends.

Dear Mr. and Mrs. Strikas,
I am so sorry for your loss. I had Alek in second grade at St. Francis Xavier. He was such a great person. Again I am so sorry.

I remember Strikas from high school. He was a little more quiet, but if you talked to him, he always had something insightful to say. He would remain impartial in the heated arguments we had over trivial subjects, but that is high school. He was very bright, and never failed to see what the correct course of action would be. He was gifted with the common sense.
He was also generous and a healthy eater. He would get the meal, but would always give away his fries to someone else. Who knows... maybe he just didn't like fries. However, the part about him being unselfish is certainly true.
It is cliché to say that he was a good person, but he really was. I don't think there is anything bad people can say about him. He never bothered anybody or rubbed anybody the wrong way. Alex was just Alex...a good kid. The world is a little less bright because of his passing. He was a genuinely good person, and that is something that can't be said about just anybody. All the best to his friends and loved ones.
