He was a guiding light for those that knew him, especially to the wrestlers now in the WWE and AEW. May all the wrestlers remember him as I did. He passed away way too soon.

I came late to this news, and what terrible news it is. Alex is the first person I remember from Central School and he remained a prominent thread throughout my school days. After graduating, I hadn't heard from him for a while, but when he reached out to me after my accident in 2007, it was a serious comfort. I hope he has found peace and that his family may be able to soon.

April 20, 2011

Dear Whybrow family, You have been in my heart and prayers ever since learning of Alex's death. My heart breaks for each of you, and grieves at the sudden ending to a vibrant life. Alex and Lauren had come in contact again recently, and I was always happy to get little updates on his life, and thankful that the kids had renewed their friendship. I will never forget my first exposure to his love for wrestling. Do you remember when you showed me the picture of him and Laur and their friends in wrestling garb following the accident? I pray you might be comforted by sweet memories like these, and through the support of your family and friends. With our deepest sympathy, Nancy and Tim Anderson

To the family of Alex I'm very sorry for your loss and pray with you all at this time of grieving.

To the family of Sweet n Sour, there ain't no doubt about it that he's up there strutting his stuff listening to Johhny Cash and playing chess with Andy Kaufman while Freddie Blassie is commenting on the talent Sweeney portrayed down here.

I'm a better person for knowing you and everytime I play nintendos pro wrestling I'll play with starman and think of that last conversation we had

I knew Alex as Larry Sweeney. I have never met a nicer guy. He went out of his way to take pictures and sign autographs for fans. I was lucky enough to see him wrestle live dozens of times and talk to him a lot before and after shows. He was such a great person. He was amazing wrestler and talker. I will forever miss him inside the ring and out. - Jason Dobbins

Sending my prayers and deepest sympathy to the Whybrows. I hadn't seen Alex in a long time but was reminded of how he could be counted on to make you crack a smile, even on your worst days. Always kind and effervescent, you knew he had entered the room by the laughter that preceded him from the many people who enjoyed his company.

The memories of the joy he brought to the lives of others will never fade, and we will continue to feel his presence in those moments.

God bless you, Alex, and the entire Whybrow family. I'm so very sorry.
