Dear Folks, I am so sad to hear of Bruce's passing.I went to Proviso West High School during the mid 1970's enjoying every minute of his classes. We were the advanced dummies experimenting with electricity in his land of electronics. He had this really cool wall mounted reel to reel stereo to entertain us during class. He used to play the Iron Butterfly tune called Inna Godda Divita on the deck.As a bonus if we had had the the good luck to attend one of his personized classes you were a gifted student. But if you arrived late he would hook you to the Heathkit Power Suppy starting @ 80 Volts DC as a penalty. He would raise the voltage by 10 volts each time you were late. One Student during the 1976 school year was up to 180 Volts & the kid tried to bribe Bruce with a $5 bill under the classroom door....I never forgot that day.Mr. Beck was a really great teacher & he just loved to laugh! RIP Mr. Beck! We will always love you & always remember you.

Bruce was a very good friend of mine at Bradley University in Peoria, Illinois, in 1963-64. We were both active in the Independent Students Association. We planned a lot of social activities with the group and had a good time with our friends. I still have photos somewhere of the I.S.A. Monte Carlo Night that we organized for the students......it was a very big success! One year later, I was married and moved to Chicago. I think my husband and I met him for dinner one night, a long time ago! I remember that he was involved in teaching Industrial Arts in Public School.
The things I remember most about Bruce were his kindness and his sense of humor. He always had a smile on his face. He was a good man and I am very sorry we did not keep in touch. I hope he rests in peace and I send condolences to his family.
