Carol Jean Brown, nee Cousins, died June 13, in her Park Ridge home surrounded by her family after a courageous battle with cancer, loving wife for 48 years of John W.; devoted mother of Robert (Elizabeth), Cheryl (David), Janice (Timothy), Susan (Michael) and Marci (Sean); beloved grandmother of Elizabeth, Jonathan, Aleksandra, Ryan, Katie, Cameron, Kyle, Amie, Connor, Christian, Courtney, Debbie, Christi, Nolan, Britney and a blessing due in August; she is also survived by her dear sister Donna Smith, sister-in-law Frances M. Brown, two nieces and three nephews. Funeral Tuesday June 17, 10:30 a.m., at The First United Methodist Church of Park Ridge, 418 W. Touhy Ave., Park Ridge. Private family interment Town of Maine Cemetery. Visitation Monday 3 to 9 p.m. at Ryan-Parke Funeral Home, 120 S. Northwest Hwy., (2 blks S. of Touhy), Park Ridge. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to The First United Methodist Church of Park Ridge, Humbolt Park Missions and/or Christian Education Programs: Rainbow Hospice, 444 N. Dear Jack and Family,

I was shocked to learn of Carol's passing - I did not know she was ill. I learned of her death after the funeral so I apologize for not attending the wake. Carol was a wonderful woman and all who knew her loved her. You are all blessed to have had her love and I pray wonderful happy memories sustain each of you in your grief at this time.
