Charmayne "Maxee" Maxwell, a member of the Grammy-nominated '90s R&B group Brownstone, died on Saturday, February 28 in an apparent accidental fall.

Born in Guyana, Maxwell performed with Brownstone for more than a decade, recording such hits as "If You Love Me" and "Grapevyne." She is survived by her husband, Danish music producer Carsten Soulshock, and her son.

❤The fact remains that she's gone. It's feels like it was yesterday that she passed away, & I can't seems to grip that she's gone. I love every song that they had made like it ❤ was a special one. I hope her son knew how special she was to the world

Wow I just learned today of your untimely departure. I was a young teen when Grapevyne came out and it was and still is one of my favorite songs. Bless and rest your soul.
