Chester Davis Obituary

Chester R. Davis, Jr. (Chet), a long-time resident of Winnetka, died peacefully on March 15, 2017, in Vero Beach, FL at the age of 86. Chester was born August 30, 1930, in Chicago. He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Anne (née Meserve); his children, John (Anne) Davis, Julia (Bruce) Guthrie and Elizabeth Davis; and grandchildren, Ryan and Evan Davis and Griffin, Leander and Fiona Guthrie. Chet was a graduate of Phillips Exeter Academy, Princeton University and Harvard Law School. In 1958, he joined Bell, Boyd, Lloyd, Haddad and Burns, where he became partner. After entering the Navy during the Korean War, Chet served in the Navy Reserve for 32 years and retired with the rank of Captain. He was Trustee for the Village of Winnetka for two terms. A memorial service will be scheduled in August.
