Obituary Condolences

Claudette T. Dwyer, died peacefully in the early morning hours of Jan. 9. She was born in Chicago, Illinois on March 23, 1931, to Russel Dwyer and Ruth Riddle Dwyer. She was preceded in death by a sister, Sister Ruth Eileen Dwyer, and is survived by a brother, David Dwyer, and a niece, Caroline Dwyer Clanton. Claudette was an accomplished pianist and a life-long learner and educator. She earned a Master of Arts degree from the University of Chicago Divinity School and Doctor of Philosophy degree from Marquette University in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. During her long career as an educator she served on the faculty of Xavier University in Chicago, as the executive director of the Council of West Suburban Colleges, and as faculty member in the Master of Arts in Pastoral Theology program at St. Mary-of-the-Woods College. She lived for many years in Blue Island, Illinois and spent the final years of her life in Providence Health Care at St. Mary-of-the-Woods, IN. There will be a wake in the Church of the Immaculate Conception at St. Mary-of-the-Woods on Thursday morning, January 12 from 9 to 11 a.m., followed by the Mass of Christian burial at 11 a.m. The Reverend Daniel Hopcus will preside.
