Edward G. Kipple, 83, of Woodstock, passed away Sunday, March 22, 2015 at Centegra Hospital in Woodstock. He was born in Oak Park on February 24, 1932 to Edward F. and Clara (Glover) Kipple. Edward was a graduated from Lutheran Institute High School in Chicago in 1950. He was employed at Paraplegics Manufacturing Co. for 17 years before moving to rural HcHenry County in 1968. He then worked for Oak Industries in Crystal Lake for 171/2 years as a printing operator and mail clerk before retiring in 1987. Edward was active in auxiliary police work for 30 years starting in Addison IL, he achieved the rank of Captian. He joined the McHenry County Auxiliary in 1973 and graduated as a Sheriff's Deputy in 1975. In 1984, he received an award for meritorious service from Sheriff Henry Nulle. He also served with the McHenry County ESDA for the same number of years. He received the volunteer of the year award from the McHenry County ESDA in 1990 and from the IL ESMA in 1991. He was also a member of the McHenry County Deaf Awareness Club and served as the treasurer and trustee for several years. He was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church in Crystal Lake. A visitation will be held on Friday, March 27 from 10am until the time of the funeral service at 11am at Immanuel Lutheran Church, 300 S. Pathway Ct, Crystal Lake, IL 60014. Entombment will be at McHenry County Memorial Park Cemetery in Woodstock. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to Immanuel Lutheran Church, the Lutheran School for the Deaf, or to the Woodstock Rescue Squad. Ed's years of service to the county are inspiring and renown. We will miss his smile, his sense of humor, and the tenacity he showed in serving those with functional needs. Blessings and peace.
