Elizabeth Dinsmore Obituary
Elizabeth I Dinsmore was born May 28, 1921 in East Cleveland, Ohio to George Walter and Emma Keister Izant. She died Wednesday, May 8, 2013 in Tulsa, Oklahoma at the age of 91 years. She was reared and educated in the East Cleveland, Ohio, and continued her education at The Ohio State University, graduating in 1943 from the College of Engineering. Elizabeth married Jack Roberts Dinsmore on September 15, 1945 in Cleveland, Ohio. Together they raised five children. Elizabeth resumed her education in the 1970's at Lake Forest College graduating with a master's degree in Liberal Studies. Elizabeth actively contributed in the Glenview, Illinois community where she and Jack lived 54 years. She served twenty-five years on the Glenview School District 34 Board of Education, which included service for the Northern Suburban Special Education District Board and the Illinois State Board of Education. She was also a founding member of the Grove Heritage Association and Hangar One Foundation, both of Glenview, Illinois. Loving family members include Son: Jeff Dinsmore and his wife, Patricia Hauser of Shorewood, Minnesota. Daughters: Rebecca Dinsmore and her husband Robert Brenner of Manitowish Waters, Wisconsin, Carolyn Dinsmore of Greenwood, Minnesota, Janice Hawk and her husband Richard of Owasso, Oklahoma. Three grandchildren: Jack Kost of Bozeman, Montana, Christine Hawk and Stephen Hawk of Owasso, Oklahoma. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Jack R. Dinsmore and daughter, Elizabeth A. Dinsmore. A memorial service was held Saturday, May 11, 2013 at St Simeon's Chapel with Father Bill Holly officiating. Committal services and interment were held at Graceland Memorial Park Cemetery in Owasso. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be made in memory of Elizabeth Dinsmore, to St. Simeon's, 3701 North Cincinnati Avenue, Tulsa, Oklahoma 74106, and The Grove Heritage Association, 1421 Milwaukee Avenue, Glenview, Illinois, 60025.
